Experience roman elegance
Roman blinds, as the name suggests, were invented over 2,000 years ago and were popular at the height of the Roman Empire. They consist of horizontal slats which overlap when retracted but hang straight when extended. Roman blinds are most suitable for bedrooms, lounges and living rooms although synthetic, moisture-resistant fabrics are available for use in bathrooms, kitchens and other moist areas.
There are literally thousands of patterns and colours of roman blind available, a most fabrics can be used. Since they use only the amount of fabric required to cover the window area, they can represented a lower-cost alternative to curtains. They can be lined with blackout or thermal linings.
Roman blinds come with pleats of various widths. Modern styles tend to have narrower pleats and make your window space look larger. More traditional styles are designed with larger pleats and lend a cosy feel to the room. All styles can be either manually operated or motorised (you can even connect them via WiFi to your smart assistant for voice-controlled operation).
